Committee

CBNZ is an incorporated society, and our Executive is made up of representatives from budgeting services around Aotearoa. Current members are:

  • Sharon Soper
    Chair
    Sharon is the manager of Jubilee Budget Advisory Service in Invercargill. She is passionate about providing excellent budget services to clients, and in supporting Financial Mentors across New Zealand.
  • Alyson de Marco
    Vice Chair
    Alyson is the manager of Tamaki Budgeting.   She is a champion of  ‘MoneyMates’ programmes and is at the cutting edge of these sessions.  She has upskilled Financial Mentors across New Zealand so that they can deliver these important programmes to help empower their clients.
  • John Exton
    Treasurer
    John has over 30 years’ experience in the budgeting sector, and was a founder member of CBNZ.  Former CEO of Kingdom Resources, he is a great advocate for budgeting services, and was part of the Steering Committee that led to the creation of Fincap.
  • Debbie Griffiths
    VisionWest Financial Mentor and Kahukura. She has considerable experience as a Financial Mentor, and is totally committed to empowering people in her community.
  • Brian McGettigan
    Brian has extensive experience as a Financial Mentor and Manager of Agape Budgeting Service. He was co-founder of CBNZ, and is a huge advocate for people struggling to make ends meet.
  • Helen Pulman
    Helen has many years’ experience as a Financial Mentor, connected to Pukekohe Youth Council,  and is a trainer.  She is also currently delivers budgeting programmes for Corrections.
  • Julie Williams
    Julie is our newest co-opted member of the CBNZ Board.  She brings with her over 15 years’ experience as a Financial Mentor and trainer with Kingdom Resources in Christchurch. She co-wrote and delivers the Strengths-based Programme in conjunction with Fincap, and is a recognised Fincap Trainer.
